The face of terror reared its ugly head on Wednesday night once again. In one of the most horrific incidents in recent times, Mumbai was once again paralysed as it came face to face with terror as planned attacks hit at the heart of its urbane, posh, and prosperous areas of affluent living in South Mumbai. What can civil society do to deal with terror? Has the police machinery failed completely to take care of citizens? Is It time for security to be given over to the Army? Tell us what you feel can be done to make India a safer place.

The students @ MANAGE observed a minute silence as a mark of respect to the victims of the recent terror attack in Mumbai.
To my view instead of giving the situation in the hands of military, I think we can increase the role of private players. Offcourse some amendments are needed in the existing law to accommodate private players. It is bit difficult to do that as we may also give rise to a new treat but then I think this can be minimized by providing licence to only trusted players. And a new regulatory body can also be formed to check in the malpractices by these players. After all we should not forget that government also has other functions to do rather than only increasing the security on border and now providing security within the border.
